Mushroom helps to reduce high cholestral level ,breast cancer and aids in reducing weight as well.Further it increases immunity.
Now lets see how we can prepare this recipe.Wash clean and finely choop mushroom and set aside.


  • Onion-1(finely chopped)
  • Small Tomato-1(finely chopped)
  • Green Chilly-1
  • Aachi Kulambu Millagai thool-3 tsp
  • Mustard seeds-1 tsp.
  • Oil- to deep fry.
  • Curry leaves-a strip or two.
  • Ginger garlic paste-1/2 tsp.

  •  Heat Oil in Kadai ,sprinkle mustard seeds and curry leaves,let it sprout,then add up onion fry till golden brown,then follow with chilli,ginger garlic paste and saute it all the way from bottom.
  • Now time to add mushrom and saute it again for couple of minutes,then add aachi kulambu millagai thool,salt and water(as required consistency)close the lid and leave it for 10 minutes and do not forget to give a stir occasionally as it may stick to the bottom.
  • Now when oil gets sepaterated on top layer its time to turn off the knob.And your done with Kalan koottu.
  • Have it along any curry for rice or even for roti's and dosa,in whatever way u desire.And I'm sure it add up the taste.Do give a try.
